Alexander McGregor
Alexander has always been an active individual. While a bit spastic as a kid when it came to finding a specific sport, he ultimately found cheerleading and gymnastics in middle school. Alexander continued cheering through high school and into college, focusing on partner stunting, coaching, being a camp counselor, and even bringing home a national championship. After college Alexander stopped flinging people through the air and turned his attention to running. He has participated in multiple distances from short 5k runs to completing The Marine Corp Marathon in 2010.
Bored with running and looking for a challenge, Alexander decided to shake up his routine and joined Crossfit Balance in 2011. While he had never been exposed to Olympic lifting or a lot of barbell work, he loved the constant and varied challenges Crossfit presents and learned quickly. Understanding that Crossfit is a constant journey towards improvement, Alexander continues to focus himself by working his weakness, planning extra work for himself, and pushing himself in his training and at competitions.
Since joining Crossfit two years ago, Alexander has been an active member of the Balance community. He has participated in competitions such as Team Superfit in Richmond, VA, CF Football Total at our local CF Dupont, and captained his team for Capital Affiliate League last year. He has also taken home the bacon as a two-time winner of Balance’s Paleo Challenge(once as a team and once as an individual).
Alexander uses Crossfit as his main training but loves supplementing it with football, biking, hiking, and running. He is a great resource for motivation, goal setting, and overall good attitude. He hopes as a coach he is able to motivate you to hit your goals and keep you coming back with bigger goals. Alexander has participated in multiple certifications, including; CF Kettlebell Course, CF Judging course, and will have CF Level 1 in early April 2013.
