ATHLETE OF THE WEEK- TRAVIS HITE- The reason I am nominating him is because of his heart, his determination, and his involvement in trying to get people into the rowing challenge. He is always ready to go and give 100% effort into each workout. -Manirique Pena
.) Reason for starting CrossFit: After grad school, I blew out my knee, gained 55lbs. and subsequently threw out my back. It killed me to have pain while doing small chores like unloading a dishwasher or getting winded while walking up a flight of stairs. One day, my coworker Laura showed up at a happy hour completely exhausted and way too happy for the condition she was in. She introduced me to CrossFit and here I am.
.) Favorite thing about CrossFit Balance: The people, both trainers and classmates. The friends for cheering, supporting, and poking fun. The coaches for dragging me through workouts and answering all of my questions.
.) Biggest Goal for 2013: A Muscle Up! For a big guy with back/core issues, this is my biggest goal right now
.) Background in athletics/fitness: Played both indoor sixes and outdoor doubles volleyball throughout college
.) Fun Fact: I grew up on a cattle farm, herding beef cattle, bailing hay, and building fences. If there was a "Travis" WOD it would be shuttle runs, farmer carry, sandbag toss, and stake driving.

@60% of 1RM
